Zoe-perry

Perry is a Chicago native born to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. The character Jackie Harris was played by her mother in each of the two episodes she appeared on Roseanne. However, her parents did not want her to perform until she turned an adult, fearing the effects of stress. Perry said that she was too shy to act in high school but began acting in theater classes at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer from Boston University. Perry started her acting career with New York after graduation, landing minor role on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, the feeling of homelessness made Perry go back to California to work as a theater actress. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom on Broadway in 2013 The show was directed by Eugene O'Neill. Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie and Kevin McKidd. This was presented at West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry was in nine episodes of the ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, Perry was a part-time character in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal that starred her father. The same year, she appeared as a younger character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) in which she played her mother in a younger version. The part was offered by audition despite the fact that she is a relative to the role.
